Workshop organised in conjunction with Prof Volodymyr Turchynovskyy of the International Institute for Ethics and Contemporary Issues and Taras Dobko, Senior Vice Rector at UCU.
The University hosted the workshop bringing together local politicians and public servants, local journalists and media experts from the School of Journalism. Papers were presented by Dr Melanie Sully on politics, Dr Josef Mantl on social media and Stefan Schocher from the paper "Kurier" based in Vienna. Ukrainian participants included Yurij Pidlisnyy and Vakhtang Kipiani; former British Diplomat Claire Smith joined the workshop from London.
The objective of the event as stated in the UCU press release was to "generate reflections for guidelines and principles for developing models for ethically rooted decision-making in politics and the media in Ukraine".

 The event was made possible by the support and participation of the City of Vienna (Dr Oskar Wawra), OeAD Cooperation Office in Lemberg (Andreas Wenninger), and the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of Austria (Ambassador Wolf Dietrich Heim).
