Jonathan Sauvé (Bachelor of Laws [LL.B.], Université de Montréal, 1998; Graduate Diploma in Management, HEC Montréal – School of Business, 2004) joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in 2006. In Ottawa, Mr. Sauvé served as Legal Officer in the Criminal, Security and Treaty Law Division, as Deputy Director of the Parliamentary Affairs Division, and as Deputy Director (Ministerial Unit) and Senior Departmental Advisor in the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Sauvé served abroad in Washington, D.C., as Second Secretary (Public Affairs), Deputy Spokesperson (Media Relations Office) and Head of the Digital Advocacy and Research Group. He also worked there as First Secretary and Executive Assistant in the Office of the Ambassador. He joined the Embassy of Canada to Austria (Foreign Policy and Diplomacy Service) in August 2014, as Counsellor and Program Manager (Political, Economic and Public Affairs). Mr. Sauvé is married to Jeffery L. Peterson.
