Prof. Dr. Melanie Sully


Dr Melanie Sully gave a lecture in Albena Bulgaria to the Summer School organised for young professionals on good governance and the Black Sea Region.

Dr Josef Mantl presented a paper for the Agency for Legislative Initiatives in Kiev on the importance of social media and politics.

Go Governance team organised a study tour to Bratislava meeting members of the City Council, Austrian Embassy and others supported and co-organised by the City of Vienna and City of Bratislava

Dr Melanie Sully further was interviewed on Brexit topics as well as the result of the 2017 General Election in the UK and other current political issues for TV ORF, ATV, Puls4, Radio Oe1, FM4 and print media. Dr Sully was a guest on the German radio talk show NDR "Redezeit". During the Autumn Austrian election campaign she was interviewed for Australian and French media and contributed to the discussion in Austria on issues such as dirty campaigning and electoral reform.

Melanie gave a lecture to around 200 people in Innsbruck and took part in discussions in Klagenfurt as well as at the Chamber of Labour in Vienna on the UK post-Brexit. She travelled to Linz for lectures and discussions on reforms in Europe.

In April with our partner Urban Forum of Dr Gabriele Matzner and Bernhard Müller a workshop on the future of cities took place with our expert from Armenia Gevorg Melikian. The City of Vienna was also involved in this venture.

In addition publications appeared for the Styrian Yearbook of politics on Brexit written by Dr Melanie Sully and for the Assembly of European Regions on "redrawing the map" and the role of the regions in the Brexit process.
Dr Sully contributed to press conferences on electoral and democratic reforms with articles for NGOs and think tanks.

Deputy of the Institute Dr Josef Mantl continued with his Moving Forward Campaign looking at innovation and communications and took part in a conference in Klagenfurt with Governor of Carinthia et al on cultural pluralism.
